Today we wanted to take a moment to thank all the HEROES in our family.

I think the title says it all - H1N1. It seems has people pretty spooked, so what better day to go for the vaccine then the day that Cynthia is wearing her Spook-tacular Halloween outfit.
Here's the fun down of our H1N1 day. Todd gets in line at 11:00am, he waits and waits and waits and finally at 1:25pm they start handing out tickets. He scored Cynthia and I spots #249 and #250 and was told to come back after 4:00pm. So at 4:00pm Cynthia and I return only to find out that are now in the 300s... urgh, a little frustrating because they will still take us but we have now lost out spot and we just have to fall in with the 300s and are sent to a waiting room just inside the building. Around 5:20pm they bring Cynthia and I up to the second floor - woo hoo, we are there - oh wait no, it's simply a second floor of waiting rooms. About twenty later one of the workers calls out asking if anyone has a number below 250 - I told Cynthia I would go and she could wait, then the woman let us both go. So we head to the third floor now - and yes you got it another waiting room. The third floor waiting room isn't too bad because at this point they have taken your name down on a list. This time our wait was only about ten minutes and they called our names - we went right into the nurses and got our needles. I was so proud of Cynthia, she sat down pulled her arm out of her sleeves and sat there like a trooper. I only had one chance for a photo and it's blurry because the nurse told her to look away but when I took the picture she turned to smile. We can't complain too much - sure it was a combined waiting time of nearly 6 hours, but Cynthia and I are vaccinated and we didn't have to worry about the monster sized sign that read "H1N1 Clinic Closed."

What's even better then getting treats on Halloween? Giving out treats or course. It's getting harder and harder to be able to give treats out at schools these day with all the allergies and such. Cynthia really enjoys sharing with her friends and I like to support that. This year I decided to make something a little more creative and cute and with less junk. I simply made labels that read "Happy Halloween, From Cynthia" and stapled them to mini zip lock bags. Inside the bags are two mini rainbow Twizlers (peanut free), glow in the dark vampire teeth and two Halloween rings. I think they turned out pretty well and hope the kids at school love them tomorrow.
Around our house we love Halloween and wish we could get more out of it, and this year Cynthia is really luck because she will be celebrating Halloween Three days in a row. Today she got to wear her Halloween outfit to school, she was going to wear it tomorrow but we didn't want her costume to cover this awesome little outfit that Grandma and Grandpa from Minot bought her last year (we were so excited to see that it still fit) Isn't it cute?
We started Sparks in September - Cynthia as a Spark and me as a Leader. We have been having so much fun doing this. A few weeks ago we started the cookie selling campaign and I have to say I am so very proud of Cynthia. She sells her cookies everywhere she goes and we've even gone out selling them door-to-door. So far she has sold 13 cases of cookies - that's 156 boxes of cookies. Good job my Crazy little Cookie Monster.
